Order

  1. On your iPhone, tap Mail or from the Home screen choose Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account
  2. Choose your email account type:
    1. Y! Mail (for Yahoo!)
    2. Gmail
    3. Mac
    4. AOL
    5. Other (choose other if you’re using SmarterMail)
  3. Click Other
  4. Click POP as your server type
  5. Enter your account information:
  6. Enter your Incoming Mail Server information
    1. Hostname is mail.example.com.
    2. Username is your full email address (your.email@example.com)
    3. Password is the same password used to access webmail.
  7. Enter your Outgoing Mail Server information
    1. Hostname is mail.example.com.
    2. Username is your full email address (your.email@example.com)
    3. Password is the same password used to access webmail.
  8. Click Save
  9. The iPhone will attempt to establish an SSL connection to your IMAP and SMTP servers.
  10. If this fails, you will see a prompt "Do you want to try setting up the account without SSL."
    1. Click No.
    2. Click Save
    3. When prompted "This account may not be able to send or receive emails. Are you sure you want to save?", select Save.
  11. Click the account you just added (identified by your email address)
  12. Scroll down and click the SMTP button.
  13. Select the server you just added, identified by the hostname from step 9a.
  14. Select "OFF" for Use SSL.
  15. Select "Password" for Authentication
  16. Select "25" for Server Port.
  17. Click the SMTP button to go back
  18. Click your email address to go back
  19. Click Advanced
  20. Scroll down to Incoming Settings.
  21. Select "OFF" for Use SSL
  22. Select "Password" for Authentication
  23. Select "110" for Server Port
  24. Click your email address to go back
  25. Click Mail to go back
  26. Hit the Home button
  27. Hit the Mail App to check your configuration
